Hi God. It’s me, Mary.
Are You sure, God? You want me, God? To carry Your Son, God? But I’m engaged, God. What of my reputation, God? You’ve sent an angel come to me, To declare what will be. I trust that it is You, Lord; and yet, a tension still resides within me. The Holy Spirit blessed me with the Messiah, the one who will redeem creation. And yet, I am to be wed – so I am met with hesitation. Still, my soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior. I am sure, God. But I need Your help, God. God? It’s me, Joseph. Are You sure, God? You want her, God? To carry Your Son, God? But we’re engaged, God. What of my reputation, God? You’ve sent an angel to declare to me, that Mary and I will be: holy in Your sight accomplices in redemption guardians of Your Child. Jesus, we are to call him, for he will save us from our sins. Emmanuel we are to call him, for You will be with us by his birth. I choose to love You, God. But I need Your help, God. It’s us, God. Your servants, Mary and Joseph. You are sure, God. You wanted us, God. To carry your Son, God. We are now wed, God. Our reputation is in You, God. Messiah, Jesus, Emmanuel – We care for him as our own. We know through him, You will: do great things perform mighty deeds fill the hungry extend Your mercy. Our faith is in You, God. We celebrate Your help, God. |
